I will try to be brief, but I really need your advice. I lost my boyfriend of three years to mĀ„rder last year, and I was already pregnant with his child. I found out about a month after we buried him. For context, our families have been friends since I was a kid, and I have a close relationship with his family members, and they have the same with mine. In fact, itās safe to say that his mum raised me. Back to when I found out I was pregnant: his family stood by me! He has two brothers and a cousin who live with them.
They were at all my doctorās appointments; they showed up for everything, especially his immediate younger brother, whoās three years older than I am. On my delivery day, he was there with me; he signed my babyās birth certificate and all. His mother is the best thing that can happen to a woman! I moved out of his mumās place when I got a job so I could have some privacy (I thought Iād move on), but I made sure to be very close to her because my baby gave her so much hope for her late son. His immediate younger brother started showing up so much; I never lacked any baby itemsāmoney or food.
Iām not gonna lie, I started feeling some type of way about him because I was just another lonely single mom that needed attention, and he provided that attention in all forms! Then one day, he was checking on his niece as usual, and we couldnāt help it; we shared a kiss for the first time. I felt so guilty about it at first and was so scared that I betrayed my late boyfriend until one day his mum asked me if I really wish to remain in their family. Honestly, Iād love to! I donāt think I can marry into another family and be treated that well; weāve known each other for years, and it never changed.
Now my late boyfriendās brother wants to marry me. I swear I love him, but Iām scared. I donāt know how it sounds; weāre Yoruba, and my family said they do such things. Should I go ahead and marry him?
