I met my boyfriend online on a dating app, he is a doctor in the UK, and he is Igbo. I’m Yoruba. Things were working out, and I liked him too. He keeps me company whenever he is less busy, but most times he is always busy. Sometimes we don’t talk for days. That’s not the issue. My birthday was in February, and he only wished me saying “Happy birthday beloved.” It was weird, but then I overlooked it. We started dating around December, but anytime I ask him for money as he should pay for my gym or he should dash me money lemme get something for myself, he will always bring up excuses. I’m not saying I’m entitled to his money, but then he has never given me money at all, and he is serious about us, he plans on coming home soon, and he wants to meet my mom; he already spoke with her on the phone. But when I ask him for something, he gives excuses, and he doesn’t talk about his family or how work goes, and I’m bothered. Please, what do you all think?
