My boyfriend has traveled to Dubai for the past 5 years. Since then, he refused to come home, and neither did I go for visitation. We love each other so much even with the distance. Every year, this guy promised to come home, but he’d later come up with another story. Along the line, I went for my service because I redeployed to Abuja. This guy got a heart attack because I’m a full spec, a fine babe who was ready to explore Abj. He said he’s coming that year to plan our wedding before I finish my service year. A year passed, oga didn’t come to Nigeria. I wasn’t even ready for marriage then. After my service, I told him I wanted to start a business, and he promised to add to the money I saved during my service. Time reached when he was supposed to send money; he started giving me a series of excuses. He said the money I asked for was too much, and that he was going to give me N500k because he didn’t want me to start a business here;
it’ll just be a waste since he’s coming, and after our wedding, we both are going together. I was like, you have two investments here, but you don’t want me to have any. Four months later, he sent me half of the money and promised to send the rest by the end of that month. Now, 12 months have passed; he doesn’t speak about it anymore. Even if I ask, this guy to give me money, my eye will see shege before he sends it. This guy is earning more than a million every month. I have never received gifts from this guy. If I don’t ask him for money for a whole year, he doesn’t care; he won’t even ask nor send. With the way things were going, I got fed up. I told him I was tired of waiting. If he can’t come, he should let me come instead. He promised and swore on everything that he was coming that year. As usual, I accepted. Now the year has passed; he didn’t come home. And it’s not that I don’t see another guy to ask me out.
I see a lot of rich Abj guys. A year passed; he didn’t complete the money I asked for business, and he didn’t show up. Then I told him I was done with the relationship. Since then, this guy has been crying in my head. I blocked him everywhere since he couldn’t reach me. He started calling my parents to help them beg me. There was a time when one of his relatives called and started saying rubbish, that he couldn’t just come home like that; he didn’t have a residence permit yet. My fam, naso dem dey do for Dubai? What if he was in the USA or other countries? I should wait for my entire life. I was pissed off after wasting my time with him. I don’t love him anymore. The worst part is that he brags on top of the N20k he only sends for a few months, saying that I dey collect monthly allowance. Right now, I just want to focus on my business. Sometimes I blame myself for trusting the guy because the waiting isn’t worth it, and he’s making me feel bad as if I did him bad.
