I have been living with my friend for over 10 months (we’ve been friends for 3 years), and I’ve been feeling like I’ve overstayed my welcome for a really long time. I told her that I’d only stay with her until I find my own place, but the fact that I don’t have the money for the place yet has been holding me back. So I’ve been staying with her, doing everything I can to stay out of her hair and not cause any trouble just so we can live comfortably. Today, she texted me to say she’ll be coming back with her sister and that I’ll have to leave the house (she traveled). She wasn’t rude about it or anything, but I tried to reason with her to just hold out for a bit until I got the money.
We graduate in less than seven months, so I also begged her to let me stay just until we sign out. She refused to do that also. I know she needs her space, but Omo, I can’t help but feel really, really bad and very embarrassed. My family house is really far from school. If not, I would have been going to school from home. Before you ask, my dad can’t afford a place for me at the moment, and I wasn’t able to get a hostel space. I don’t know what to do. Should I keep begging her? Maybe she’ll let me stay? I really can’t afford to move out now.
