I met this guy last year. We clicked and started dating. He’s everything, I mean everything I want in a man. No guy has ever loved me the way he has. We are totally obsessed with each other. We can’t even go a day without texting or calling each other since it’s a distance relationship. We made a vow when we started dating that even if we quarrel or have a fight over something, we must reconcile within 24 hrs. Which is going well for us. He’s based in Lagos while I stay in Anambra state. I am a final-year student. I and my guy are in a serious relationship that will lead to marriage. My mum doesn’t like Enugu men. Says I must marry from my state – Anambra. That Anambra men are far better than any Igbo state.
I told her I would marry from Enugu or Anambra if I met a man I love and I don’t care what she thinks. She says Enugu men don’t take care of their women and mistreat them. The issue now is my man is from Enugu state and my mom threatened me that she won’t have anything to do with me or my wedding if it happens I married an Enugu man. I have made up my mind that I’m ending up with my man whether she likes it or not. Buh then how can one have a happy married life when I went against her wish? After all, my dad doesn’t treat us well even though he’s from Anambra state. I swore never to marry from here. My guy is different for God’s sake. What do you guys advise I do, please? Because I can’t leave my man for any other lady. He’s my one in a million.
