There was this guy I dated while I was in school. We dated for two years and nine months. I could say this guy was very caring, kind, and supportive in his own way. But the only problem I had with him was that throughout our relationship, he didn’t bother to see me physically. We stayed close to each other in school, but he didn’t care at all. We could go four to five months without setting eyes on each other. At first, I didn’t mind because I felt that’s just who he was, and because he had a roommate. But at some point, I felt so rejected. I felt as if I wasn’t good enough. I even suggested that we could just hang out once in a while, but he still didn’t work on that. I lost my virginity, yet nothing changed. He didn’t even touch me again until about seven months later. We only chatted all the time. No video calls, no outings. He only called if I wasn’t online for a whole day. No sitting down to gist or play. Even when I wanted to visit him, he would tell me not to come. After he graduated, I was still in my final year. He moved away from school, and now there was distance, which I understood.
But anytime I was at my dad’s place, which was closer to his parents’ house, he would still give different excuses. At least let’s hang out, but he wouldn’t respond. For a whole year, we didn’t see each other at all. I waited because he told me he would soon get his own apartment and everything would be fine. Along the line, he told me he was getting an apartment with his brother. I advised him to get one alone, even if it was self-contained, but he said no, so I accepted it. Later, he told me his brother’s girlfriend was pregnant and would be moving in, meaning he would be living with a couple. I knew that would make the situation worse, so I broke up with him. His response was, “If that’s what you want, it’s fine.” Then he moved on. Two weeks later, he started posting another girl. She would even go to his parents’ house to visit and all. I felt so bad, but I let it go. However, I have kept thinking about him for the past year. After we broke up, the guy started doing extremely well in life, which made me miss him even more, although I had already started missing him before then. It has been really hard for me to move on.
