My talking stage and I have been talking for some weeks. His birthday happened to fall during this period. My friends told me not to get him anything because he hasn’t gotten me anything yet, but I didn’t listen because I felt it was a nice gesture. I spent about N120k on his birthday gift for someone I had met a month. I honestly felt so much for him and I didn’t mind. He was so happy and I felt happy seeing that. However, he hasn’t gotten me anything since we started talking, not even food. When we meet up, I cover all my transportation because I’m too shy to ask. I love gifts so much and I also give them out to people I care about, but I think I’ve given him the impression that I’m something like a “sugar mummy” because he makes comments like “when will you get me this…”, but then claims it’s a joke. What can I do please? Note: I actually do like this guy a lot.
