I have a friend, she’s my best friend. We’ve been friends since 2020, and everything has been good so far in our friendship. We hardly fight or argue because we’ve known each other’s attitude. So my friend’s mom met someone from her place of work, and the woman is rich and she is a philanthropist. So my friend’s mom introduced my friend to this woman. She’s not based here; she stays in the U.S. and it’s been 30 years she visited Nigeria, so she came last February along the line. My friend was taking her around here in Nigeria because she doesn’t know anywhere, and she gave my friend thousands of naira, aside from the money she sees, maybe she helps the woman get something, to the point that the woman sent money to my friend’s neighbor, N300k. So fast forward, my friend told me this woman wants to give food to beggars and she’s the caterer to cook, because we’re both caterers, I forgot to mention that. And my friend told me we’re going to do the job together. On the day we were to go, she called me that I shouldn’t worry, that she will handle it herself and her mom. I said it’s fine; I didn’t worry. And she knew I was not financially stable atm. The woman wants to get hair, and my own mom sells hair,
and she didn’t even think of patronizing my mom until I mentioned it, that won’t you buy from my mom? She was like, will she get good hair for her? I was like, if you don’t want to, you can buy from an online vendor. Then maybe her conscience was judging her; she sha got the hair from my mom. It’s just a bs 10”. Everyone knows the price. So she sent N120k to my mom, and my mom got the hair with wigging N105k. Meanwhile, she collected N200k for the hair, but that’s by the way. The woman even wants to start an NGO and gift widows. The woman went back to the U.S., and she gave all her family 100 dollars each and gifted them a lot of things. My best friend didn’t even mention me to the woman, but she could mention her neighbor and the woman gave her N300k. So I told people around me because my mom was like she could have helped me get something too for me since she knows we have rent issues, but I just told her that’s her own destiny helper; our own will come. I don’t want to see it as she did me wrong. Please, I need advice. Should I stay away from her? Because if it was me, I will bring her along or do the work together and still introduce her to the woman.
