I just moved to Lagos for job opportunities, and I found a good one, but let’s say it comes with a price. I lost my relationship because he said he can’t invest in a long-distance relationship, only for me to find out a few days after that he is dating someone else already. I plan to get an apartment here in Lagos, but everything is just too expensive and above my budget. Now, I decided to squat with a family pending the time I am able to save more, but it has not been easy living with someone apart from my parents for the first time. I decided to invest my savings into a business back home so my parents can monitor it for me and double the money, so I can get my own place later. Now, I’ve been trying to get a shop to start, but everything seems impossible. My birthday is in a few days, but there’s no excitement whatsoever because life just seems tiring. No friends here, no money (I’ve not even received my first salary, and we are already in the middle of another month), and I’m still nurturing heartbreak. I feel so lonely, like I’m alone in this world.
