Can a man really stick with just one woman? At this point, I think Jesus needs to stir the dating/relationship pool, it’s getting crazier by the day. You meet someone new, think they have sense, only to later realize they’re just like the rest. I used to think I had issues with overthinking and insecurity, but every time I try to let my guard down and truly trust someone, they end up giving me solid reasons not to. I recently got into a relationship, and during the talking stage, we had conversations about openness, even down to our phones. No hoarding of passwords or shady behavior. So tell me why, after we started dating, someone called this egbon while we were together, and he refused to pick up. He claimed, “I just don’t want to pick.” I urged him, saying it might be something important. Uncle called the person and was replying with monosyllabic responses. After the call, I asked who the person was, he said, “Ehn, it’s just a friend.” I said, “Okay, is it fine to check your phone?” He said, “Yes, sure,” and proceeds to open his WhatsApp.
I said, “But this babe called you on Snapchat na.” That was how he turned everything around and said, “Sooo, you don’t trust me?” I said, “Shuuuu?! Now now, you wan dey gaslight me?” I told him not to bother again, no need abeg. He then started apologizing, “There’s nothing really, they’re just friends.” Lol. This guy told me one day he was going for a meeting at the office on a public holiday and didn’t leave the house till 3pm, and the meeting was meant to end at 4/5pm. I asked if it was compulsory to attend physically, he said yes because it was appraisal period and he needed to be physically present. And you left home past 3pm? Torh. After that, he didn’t reach out, and me sef no disturb am. When he’s home, he doesn’t pick video calls or normal calls. He claims he doesn’t pick calls from anyone. I asked, “Even calls from your girlfriend?” But when he’s at work, during his free time, he calls me on video call. Torh. (Before Delulu go finish me say no be red flag, make I leave jeje). Una no fit run me mad.
