I met this man last year and he asked me to be his girlfriend after a few months. During our getting to know each other stage, I asked if he was married or had a child, and he said no. Oh but I had a feeling deep down that there was a woman somewhere. I ignored the feeling, blaming it on my inability to fully trust a man. And there was no trace of a woman in phone or home because I looked. Few months after the relationship started, I stumbled upon a post with my said boyfriend with a wife and a kid, celebrating 4 years anniversary. I had never been with a married man and I didn’t know how to act, but after a few weeks I confronted him and he claimed they were separated, saying if they were still together, they wouldn’t be living apart in the same country. She runs an online business, so jobs cannot be the reason they live apart. I wanted to believe him but if they weren’t still together, why did she make a happy anniversary post on her page? I just thought maybe she was still trying to save face. And mind you, there was still no serious trace of her in his home.
But then she made another post of the happy family. And yes, I had become a stalker for her page. I spoke to him about it and he claimed it was an old video she posted. He claimed they barely spoke to each other aside from their child. I ignored it, but my instincts were not comfortable anymore and I really liked the person. I had told my family about him. But today I saw a post from their church where my said boyfriend, his supposedly separated wife and their son walked into church together. Immediately I saw the post, I highlighted my screen and blocked him everywhere. No explanation, no confrontation and since then, I have been waiting to cry or feel heartbroken but I feel numb. No tears, no unblock and block back, just straight up blocking. And I have been living like it never happened. But I’m at peace because I’m not a stalker anymore and I don’t feel like a hypocrite anymore. I love myself too much to be in that messy situation.
