My boyfriend and I hardly go out on dates because he has a lot of bills to pay currently, so I hardly ever initiate dates. He’s also very frugal with his spendings, which I’m aware of. But whenever we go on dates and he wants to make payments, he complains about the fact that he’s wasting money and keeps making side remarks about it. It makes me feel like I’m not worth an outing or date. We’ve also not gone on a proper date in our many years of dating because he believes that the prices are too expensive. Is this a red flag or normal behavior for guys that love their women? Note: I hardly ever ask for much except it’s the last option I have, so it’s not like I’m materialistic.
