Good day, I just want to know if I was right for cutting off a friend. So on Tuesday, I had a serious test by 10 a.m., which I wasn’t aware of because I mixed up the course code. I continued with my project that morning without knowing about the test. A friend called me at 10:07 a.m., asking why I wasn’t in the exam hall. Meanwhile, I’m a final-year student, so I was shocked. I thought it was a prank and just continued my project. I messaged my supposed close friend, called her, and asked if we truly had a test, but she didn’t reply. I quickly poured water on my head and stepped out. Panicking, I ran as fast as possible. When I got to the bus that would take me there, it wasn’t full, so I had to pay for eight empty seats.
On getting to the hall, they said I had 20 minutes left, so I just wrote all I could think of and what I had knowledge of since I never missed the class. This friend in question, whom I’ve known for 10+ years, waved at me after the exam. I ignored her and just went to the library to cry. After five minutes, I messaged her to ask why she couldn’t call or text me if she knew we had a test and noticed I wasn’t around. This is someone I go to class with all the time, but she couldn’t even let me know about the test. She then replied, calling me an ikoko (a newborn) and irresponsible. I was shocked and told her she didn’t have sense and didn’t understand empathy—then I blocked her. My purpose for writing this is to know if I was right for cutting her off or not.
