I have been dating this guy for a few months now. Before we started dating, he was upfront and told me he had gotten someone else pregnant, and she was expecting his child at the time. He’s been an amazing partner, and our relationship is serious, with marriage being a real possibility. Honestly, if he hadn’t told me about her, I wouldn’t have known. He explained that if it wasn’t me, it would have been someone else because he simply wants to be happy.
He says he’s not in love with her and that his only commitment to her is for the child. A few months into our relationship, though, he married her in a traditional ceremony, saying he did it solely for the child’s sake. I’m in love with him, and he’s been honest with me from the beginning, so I haven’t had any reason to doubt him. Now, my family wants to meet him, but I’m feeling uncertain.
