Religion Problem in My Relationship

I am a Muslim, but I’m not really into Islamic stuff. My parents are not deep Muslims either, but they pray once in a while. The problem is my boyfriend is a Christian, and I genuinely love this guy. I love him so much, and I don’t think I want to lose him. But my parents are against me getting married to a Christian. Before, they were okay with it, but all of a sudden, they changed their minds. My mum is not even the problem here, but my dad. I don’t even know how to convince them. My boyfriend and I truly love each other, and I don’t think I want to marry anyone else apart from him.

I am an adult, and I think my parents should accept whoever I want to get married to. After all, I’m not going to carry their name forever. So, what’s the big deal in getting married to a Christian? This is the first relationship I’ve been in where I’ve not experienced any problems. This guy is gentle, reserved, humble, stays out of trouble, doesn’t talk unnecessarily, knows how to treat a woman well, and respects me and our relationship. We are medically compatible, and nothing is wrong with either of us. I can’t leave him just like that because of religion. I don’t even know what to do.
