I have been visiting a friend of mine since 2020. There’s this customer of hers who happened to be a student. This guy in question is very humble, so the only thing that made us talk was exchanging pleasantries. Along the line, he was done with his studies, went for service, and started work. Recently, he came around, and my friend jokingly told him to come and patronize me, and he said no problem. I was on my way out one day when I bumped into him. He walked up to me and requested my number because he wanted an item that I didn’t have at the time. I gave it to him, hoping to reach out when I had it. Along the line, I got a text message from him saying he wanted us to meet.
To cut the long story short, he professed his love for me and told me he had always liked me ever since he got to know me through my friend. He said he didn’t have the courage to walk up to me back then, and even if he did, he didn’t know what my reaction would be. He also said he didn’t want me to think he was playing around since he was still a student then. I was short of words because I wasn’t expecting what he said. He should be 3 or 4 years younger than I am. The age is not even an issue; I personally believe maturity is all that matters. How do I know he actually meant what he said? I’ve never been in a situation like this before. Please, your genuine advice will go a long way. Thank you. P.S. I’m not seeing anyone at the moment.
