I’m a 24-year-old girl from Anambra, and I’m honestly so tired and unhappy. It just feels like nothing is working for me right now. I just ended things with my guy because my family doesn’t want me to marry someone from another state. He’s from Imo, and I don’t understand why Anambra parents are like this. It hurts me so much because my heart accepts this person, and I feel at peace with him. I’ve tried talking to my parents, but they refuse to bless our marriage, saying it won’t work because of our states.
I don’t understand why they can’t see that what didn’t work for others could work for us. Now they’re pushing me to marry someone from Anambra whom I don’t love, just because they think he’s best for me. Please, I need your advice. Should I get pregnant for the one I love and tell my parents that I’m already carrying his child? I don’t understand why they feel they have the right to choose my life partner. Who does that?
