I met a guy in a group a few months ago. I liked him from the first day I saw his picture, but I kept my cool. He has many admirers, and some girls even tag him or DM him to confess their feelings. Eventually, he DMed me, and we became friends. He called and texted every day, and we’d chat about the group. It was obvious he liked me, and everyone thought we were dating. Then his energy dropped, and he started talking to another girl. I acted like he didn’t exist. He came back, trying to friend-zone me by telling me about his girlfriend, who’s also abroad, so I know I don’t have a chance with him. I “brother-zoned” him immediately, and we became besties. We talk every day, even after he left the group.
But now, he’s acting like we’re dating, chasing away anyone interested in me. I’m single and very beautiful, and other guys keep asking if there’s something between us. There’s one particular guy I like, and he even asked me if I like my best friend, as he feels the way my best friend talks about me shows he’s interested but won’t say it. I don’t know what to do. I want a boyfriend, but my best friend isn’t ready to ask me out, and I know I like him, too. Whenever we have issues, he apologizes, saying he can’t leave me for any reason and even said, “If I didn’t already have a girlfriend, I’d marry you right away.” This guy is really m£ssing with my head. What should I do? I want to cut him off, but he always knows how to apologize.
