My Uncle Called My Business “419”

I’m someone who doesn’t feel entitled to someone else’s money or stuff, and to ask people for money is always difficult for me. I asked my uncle in America to invest in my business, promising he’d get a 40% ROI in 12 months because it’s a real estate business, so, of course, he’d get his money. I even involved a lawyer so that he’d know I’m not trying to scam him. He’s not poor or struggling, but he doesn’t believe in helping because he also had to struggle alone while growing up. He’s still talking to me because I’m the only one in the family who doesn’t bill him for money. I wouldn’t have asked him for help, but since he follows my business page on IG and always motivates me with words, I thought I should ask him to invest.

Sincerely, I’m okay even if he’s not interested. But I really felt his words last night; he said he couldn’t invest in the “419 business” I’m doing, and that if the other people who are investing in my business should arrest me after twelve months, he wouldn’t help me get released. This was the first time I asked him for anything. Omo, the “419” words wouldn’t stop echoing in my head as I cried myself to sleep last night. He’s faultless anyway; I’m the one trying to do big things 🤦🏼‍♀️.
