I’m a 22-year-old girl in my 300-level at school, and my boyfriend is 26. We started dating early last year. During the talking stage, he told me he owned a house and a shop because he’s a shoemaker. Fast forward to when we started dating, and we were cool, but this guy always complained about being broke. I asked why he didn’t want to further his education, and he always said school was a scam.
This year, I spent three days at his place, and I found out he lied about the house and shop. He apologized, and we moved on. I guess he started doing “yahoo” now, and ever since I noticed, my love for him has decreased. He says he’s doing it for us, but I’m not proud of him. I’m 22, a small business owner, and I earn money online.
I send money to my siblings and buy myself expensive stuff. This guy has never gifted me anything, even though I lent him N75k. I want to leave him because he’s not serious. He loves me, but I don’t feel the same anymore, and he hasn’t noticed that I’ve changed. How do I break up with him without hurting him? I just want to leave in peace.
