I’m 20 years old and in 200 level. My sister is 23 and she’s done with school. We’ve lived together since I was in 100 level and we were fine…ish. We’ve never been close. So, the thing is, I noticed my sister has been giving me some kind of attitude since the beginning of this year. Things that never used to irritate her started to irritate her. For example, whenever we used to eat at night, I would leave the dishes in the sink and wash them early the next morning, especially if they were too much.
She was okay with it, but around April, I left a cup I used to drink juice and only went inside to grab something. She started shouting at me. I told her I was about to go and wash it, and I really was, but I just went to grab something. It’s like my being there irritates the depth of her soul! Just my existing as a person! She doesn’t tell me stuff our mom tells her to tell me; she’s always snapping at me, even when I don’t do anything. One time, her top was missing and she started to blame me. I told her I didn’t take it. She found it in her wardrobe later but she still found a way to shout at me!
And she’s dating this guy and bringing him over. I just stay in the room whenever he comes, and when night comes, my sister sends me to the mosquito-ridden living area while she and her boyfriend sleep on the bed. And I can’t say anything because she’s older. I don’t know what to do, fam. Staying with a friend isn’t an option and what I earn from my small business can’t help me rent an apartment or something. Assuming my mother lived close, I would transit from there to school every day but I can’t. My mom says I should endure! Lol! And she doesn’t even talk to her! Oh well, I guess I’ll endure then.
