You guys, my boyfriend just called me barren for the third time this month. He said his ex-girlfriend, whom he had sex with, got pregnant for him last year, and I—his current girlfriend—have not gotten pregnant for him before (I’ve only spent a month with him). He said at least her womb could carry a child and remove it, unlike me who doesn’t even know what it’s like to have an abortion. He’s comparing me to her. My question is, must I have an abortion before I know whether I’m fertile or not?
I remember when I was doing my IT, I told a scientist that I wanted to get pregnant, and he advised me not to even try and to just wait until I’m ready because abortion is painful and sometimes unsuccessful. Before I had sex with my boyfriend, I always checked my period app to know when I was safe. Now this foolish boy says I’m barren. He even told me that people have called his mom that name before, and now he’s calling me the same. This life sha.
